4. Register and Activate the GNS 430/530 GPS

At the end of the installation program, you will see a screen where you must enter your invoice number, and the email address used during your purchase

5. Update your sim's Navigational Data

Need to update your GPS to more current approaches (including WAAS), and SIDs and STARs?  If so, you'll want to purchase RealNav Data.

See the product
FAQ  and our article on how to purchase RealNav data.

6. Additional Notes

In the default C172 - within the Mindstar variation of the plane, GNS is a pop-up gauge which must be accessed through the flight sim menu.  The GNS gauge embedded in the panel of the plane will have a blank screen since it's not to be used.

See these instructions on how to install the GNS as a pop-guage into any aircraft.

7. Speical for FSX: Steam Edition

FSX: Steam customers may need to follow these additional steps to resolve simconnect errors.  This is necessary because Steam does not, by default, install SimConnect which is required by many addons.
